The Soap Bar Comeback

Why Natural Bars are Winning

The humble bar is a zero-waste hero, eliminating plastic bottles. But not all bars are created equal. True cold-process soap is made by saponifying oils (like Olive, Coconut, Palm-free) with lye, creating glycerin—a superb humectant. Syndet bars (synthetic detergent) are milder, pH-balanced cleansers, often using plant-derived surfactants like Decyl Glucoside.

Shampoo Bars: Often syndet-based. Look for ones with Rosemary and Peppermint essential oil to stimulate the scalp, or Cedarwood and Lavender for balance.

For the body: A Lavender & Oatmeal bar with Lavender essential oil for calm, soothing skin.

For the face (oily): A charcoal or tea tree bar with Tea Tree and Peppermint essential oil.

For the face (dry): A superfatted, gentle bar with Calendula-infused Olive Oil and Chamomile essential oil.
